The C.O.N.C.E.P.T Program

Community Outreach Network Connecting Education with Poetry and Theatre (C.O.N.C.E.P..T)

C.O.N.C.E.P.T is the outreach arm of The Lyric Ave Project.   Our goal is to use every avenue available to educate and offer survival strategies to youth and young adults in an environment where positive life choices may not seem evidently clear. This program creatively uses poetry and performance to stimulate dialogue and awareness of pertinent issues impacting today’s youth and young adults on such topics as Enhancing Self Esteem, Healthy Relationships, Spirituality, Violence Prevention, Teen Pregnancy/Sexual Responsibility, Alcohol & Drugs in our Communities and Leadership Development.

C.O.N.C.E.P.T presents dynamic skits, poetry and songs using the language and popular cultures of our young persons in hard hitting, in your face scenarios that they can identify with. This approach has been proven effective and engaging for young audiences and helps generate meaningful discussion about the topics at hand. Currently

C.O.N.C.E.P.T
has been supported by a host of educational institutions, churches and various civic, social, and community organizations that are geared toward issues of empowerment.
